Richard Levy Gets To the Core of Andrill
Dr. Richard Levy, a Staff Scientist and geologist with the University of Nebraska, shared activities and answered questions about Andrill during his presentation with our 6th grade students on Thursday, September 13 at Pound. We were able to view diatoms, a glass-like algae that is key to the food chain in the ocean, under microscopes. We also created our own drawn interpretations of photos of rock formations Dr. Levy showed us in his power point presentation. Having an opportunity to visit with a real "rock" star and see the excitement he has for discovery, science came to life for all of us. We look forward with anticipation to the learning we will experience as we continue our contact with Andrill and their scientists. Join in the Journey.
